On June 15, a special briefing for the Science & Technology Diplomatic Circle (S&TDC) was jointly organized by the Science & Technology Office Tokyo (STO) and Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Swiss Ambassador’s residence.
Dr. Motoko Kotani, Science and Technology Co-Advisor to Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, introduced Japan’s activities around S&T diplomacy, outcomes of the G7 summit as well as schemes and funding programs to strengthen international S&T collaboration. Together with the host, H.E. Dr. Andreas Baum, Ambassador of Switzerland to Japan, Dr. Kotani engaged in lively discussions with guests from the S&TDC after the presentation.
The event was moderated by co-chair Kyoko Marumo Suzuki, Head of Science & Technology Office Tokyo and was attended by almost 30 S&TDC members in person including an ambassador and a deputy head of mission.
