
On April 20, Ambassador Jacques Ducrest, Head of International Relations Division, State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) and Deputy Head, Ms. Maria Peyro Voeffray visited Japan to exchange on research policy with representatives of the Japanese government. Ambassador of Switzerland to Japan, Mr. Roger Dubach joined the series of meetings where both sides expressed strong interest in enhancing strategic relationship.
The Swiss delegation met with Prof. Dr. Kohei Miyazono, Full-time member of the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI) of the Cabinet Office, Mr. Toshihide Fukui, Deputy Director General for Science, Technology Policy of the Ministry of Education, Sport, Culture, Science and Technology (MEXT), and Prof. Dr. Kazuhito Hashimoto, Chief S&T Advisor to the Cabinet, Government of Japan and President of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
The meetings provided an opportunity to reaffirm the strong and longstanding cooperation between Switzerland and Japan in science and innovation. Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.
