US Investors to Explore Swiss Ecosystem

In January 2026, investors from 13 US-based venture capital firms will travel to Switzerland as part of the Swiss Venture Connect Roadshow.

More than 85% of venture capital invested in Swiss deep tech comes from abroad. While U.S. investors account for nearly half of late-stage funding, they provide only around 10% of early-stage capital. For U.S. venture capitalists, investing in Swiss startups involves navigating challenges such as geographic distance, limited familiarity with the local ecosystem, and differences in legal frameworks, regulations, and business culture.

To address these challenges, Swissnex is bringing a group of US investors to Switzerland for the inaugural edition of the Swiss Venture Connect Roadshow. The week-long program, kicking off on January 26, will take the participants to Zurich, Neuchatel, and Lausanne, to connect with high-potential Swiss startups, explore co-investment opportunities with Swiss partners, and meet experts who can help them navigate investing in Switzerland.

Highlights of the program include attending the DeepTech Investor Summit at ETH Zurich, as well as meetings with political and institutional partners, including Martina Hirayama, the Swiss State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation; Dominique Gruhl-Bégin, CEO of Innosuisse, the Swiss innovation agency; and the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, continuing a dialogue that Hirayama initiated with investors in San Francisco and Boston during her visit to the U.S. in December 2025.

The roadshow is part of Swiss Venture Connect, a Swissnex program which aims to facilitate investment in Swiss startups by helping US VCs navigate the Swiss ecosystem. In addition to the one-week roadshow, the program offers tailored lists of investment opportunities as well as insights into the broader landscape of Swiss innovation.

The Swiss Venture Connect Roadshow also builds on the success of the Deeptech Investor Roadshow organized by Swissnex in 2025, which led a cohort of investors on a week-long visit to Swiss innovation ecosystems in Zurich and Lausanne.

The Swiss Venture Connect Roadshow is supported by invest Neuchâtel, Foley & Lardner, LLP,  Innovaud, Greater Zurich Area, unlimitrust, Deep Tech Nation Switzerland, NVIDIA, Kellerhalls Carrard, and ETH Entrepreneurship.
