From September 27 to October 1, 2021, Swissnex hosted the latest cohort of Venture Leaders in Life Sciences, with 17 inspiring Swiss startups in the fields of medtech and biotech. Over the course of one week, startups had the opportunity to hone their pitches, get valuable insights and feedback, and meet with investors and experts.
With the leadership of Alicia Evangelista, Head of Innovation at Swissnex in Boston, startups were able to hear from a curated group of experts in medtech and biotech, receiving coaching on pitching financials to investors. “We’re pleased to have supported this very talented cohort of entrepreneurs. It has been a very successful week of building bridges between Boston and Switzerland,” said Evangelista. Mid-week, the startups put their learnings into practice in a culminating pitch event, hosted by Swissnex in partnership with Innovation Studio and VentureLab, where startups pitched their companies to investors via live broadcast.
VentureLab, the company that organizes the Venture Leaders program, has a long-standing partnership with Swissnex in Boston, and one that a two year in-person hiatus could not hinder. “The past two years have been very different, we’ve been able to do some things online, but as soon as the opportunity came, we were very happy to come back to Boston, said Jordi Monserrat, co-founder and managing partner of VentureLab. “Swissnex has been a partner of venture leaders since the first day. We’ve been coming to Boston for the last 15 years, [and] have a very good track record of companies getting investments from American investors and ramping up their operations globally,” he added.
The Swiss National Startup Team’s roadshow to Boston is organized by Venturelab in cooperation with their partners and Swissnex.
