This invite-only event unites industry leaders, researchers, and creatives to explore AI’s impact on music, addressing creativity, ethics, and authorship. The panel preludes Artificial Art — AI vs Human Composers with thought-provoking discussions.
Join industry leaders, researchers, and creatives exploring AI’s transformative impact on music, focusing on what becomes possible when human creativity and artificial intelligence converge.
What new forms of musical expression emerge? How do we preserve artistic authenticity and define ethical boundaries in this evolving landscape? Featuring Lukas Loss, Interfinity’s artistic director known for his cross-disciplinary approach, alongside leading AI researchers, the panel will tackle questions of creativity, ethics, and AI-driven music creation.
This session serves as a prelude to Artificial Art — AI vs Human Composers, where discussion themes come alive through an innovative concert experience.
As AI rapidly integrates into creative industries, this panel offers tech innovators, researchers, science communicators, and artists a critical space to navigate authorship, ethics, and innovation, fostering cross-disciplinary dialogue and strategies for meaningful AI integration in the arts.

Bio
Andrea Fanelli
Principal Researcher at Dolby LaboratoriesAndrea is a Principal Researcher at Dolby Laboratories, where he leads the Machine Perception and Reasoning Team. His team develops AI models to understand, enhance, and generate multimedia content. He is also an affiliate professor in the ECE department at the University of Washington.
Andrea earned his BS, MS, and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. He joined MIT in 2013 as a Postdoctoral Associate, working on noninvasive intracranial pressure monitoring, and became a Research Scientist in 2017 before joining Dolby in 2018.
At Dolby, he has led core research that contributed to products like the Dolby.io Analytics Speech APIs and the Dolby Atmos Personalized Rendering. He also initiated the multimodal analytics research area, laying the foundation for Dolby’s Multimodal Experiences Lab.
His expertise spans multimodal AI, machine learning for audio, music, speech, and video, human-computer interfaces, and wearables.
