Una is a multifaceted young professional, embodying various roles in her career. She is a dedicated researcher, leading the project no1s1 at ETH as a PhD candidate. Her research explores topics such as decentralized autonomous buildings, economy agency of autonomous buildings, decentralized physical infrastructure, digital twin, IoT and regenerative built environments. Leveraging her background in architecture, she thrives as a builder and maker. She brings ideas to life through cyber-physical integrated prototypes and products. Her work is currently exhibited at Basel, Electric Art Museum (HeK). The love of community runs in her veins. She is a facilitator for multiple DAO communities and cross-culture, multidisciplinary associations. She is a board member at DAOSuisse and SCAA. She believes in open communication and the value of hard conversations. She has been a speaker and guest lecturer on many occasions, such as at ETH Pavillion and CV labs during the World Economy Forum.

Jumbi Edulbehram oversees global business development for Smart Cities and Spaces at NVIDIA, where he is responsible for driving the adoption of AI solutions for spatial intelligence. Throughout his career, Jumbi has been on the forefront of technological advancements for enhancing safety and operational efficiency in our cities and large public spaces such as airports, seaports and stadiums. At NVIDIA he works with a large ecosystem of partners that provide a broad range of applications for instrumenting smarter cities and spaces. Jumbi is passionate about helping cities address efficiency, equity and sustainability by capitalizing on transformational AI technologies.

Kuba Szczesniak is a co-founder of Scandens, a growing ETH spin-off that specializes in software solutions for planning and implementing building decarbonization projects at scale. He holds a degree in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zurich and has an extensive background in research, having held positions in Switzerland, UK, USA, and Singapore, with a primary focus on the integration of renewable energies and large-scale building retrofitting. Prior to founding Scandens, he conducted a research stay at MIT, where he specialized in urban building energy modelling.

Ning is an ethicist and a political scientist based at University of Zurich since 2017. She holds a PhD degree in Biomedical Ethics and Law from University of Zurich, and two Master’s degrees in Applied Ethics and Political Science obtained in Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands.

Ning has broad research interests in the ethics assessment and responsible governance of emerging and future technologies, such as robotics, autonomous systems, and generative AI. Through empirical studies of these transformative technologies of both enabling and disruptive nature, I aim to address the ethical, social, legal, and regulatory challenges new and complex technologies pose to society, explore responsive analytical approaches in the understanding and evaluation of them, and propose practical governance tools for the design, development, and use of them.

In between her academic endeavours, Ning led projects on ethics policy development for international organisations across government, industry, and NGOs. As a strong advocate of bottom-up forces for social change, I am dedicated to bridging the gap between science and society, with active engagement in influential non-academic institutions such as the World Economic Forum and the IEEE.

Dr. Thomas Schroepfer is Full Professor and Founding Programme Director and Associate Head of Pillar of Architecture and Sustainable Design at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. He also serves as the Co-Director of the Singapore-ETH Centre Future Cities Laboratory Global. His work focuses on the intricate relationship between design and technology in urban design and architecture, with emphasis on environmental sustainability.

His work has been showcased at prominent international venues, including the Venice Biennale and the World Architecture Festival. His achievements have earned him prestigious accolades, including multiple The Chicago Athenaeum and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies Awards, the President’s Design Award (Singapore’s highest honour accorded to designers and designs across all disciplines), and the Asia Education Leadership Award.
