Swissnex is the Swiss global network connecting Switzerland and the world in education, research and innovation.
Mission
Our mission is to support our partner’s outreach and active engagement in the international exchange of knowledge, ideas and talent. The six main Swissnex locations are established in the world’s most innovative regions. Together with around 20 Science Offices and Counselors based in Swiss embassies, we contribute to strengthen Switzerland’s profile as a world-leading hotspot of innovation.
The name is no coincidence. A nexus is a connection or series of connections linking two or more things. And that, essentially, is what we do. Operating as part of a concerted network, in cooperation with another location or independently, our locations offer expertise and services designed to consolidate Switzerland’s reputation as a leading innovator. Our work strengthens ties with partners worldwide and fosters the international exchange of knowledge, ideas and talent.

Swissnex in China
Swissnex in China advances Swiss-Chinese collaboration in education, research and innovation by leveraging relevant contacts, scouting content and providing context. Our experienced and knowledgeable teams seamlessly move between cultures, take the initiative and help our partners succeed in a challenging environment. Our activities provide Sino-Swiss ERI collaboration with a stronger and more sustainable contextual foundation. The priority topics - Smart Nutrition, Energy/Environment, and Healthtech - help us to focus our initiatives and strengthen our position as knowledge brokers in China.
Our History
Swissnex in China, the Science Consulate of Switzerland in China, was founded in 2008 and is located in the heart of Shanghai. Working together with the Science, Technology, Education & Innovation Section at the Embassy of Switzerland in China and Consulates-General in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, Swissnex in China connects Switzerland, China, and the world in science, research, education, and innovation.
