March 28, 2024 | Boston & New York
This March, a group of fourteen professionals pursuing an Executive MBA at the School of Management Fribourg (HEG-FR) came to Boston as part of a tour on the theme “How to Lead with Purpose and Global Impact: Sustainability and Scalability,” to gain insights into the region’s dynamic innovation ecosystem and deepen international partnerships.
During the tour, which lasted from March 22 to 28, 2024, the HEG-FR students took part in sessions at Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School (SBS) and heard from entrepreneurs and experts from major players from across the local innovation landscape. Alongside site visits to Autodesk, Atlantic Quantum, Energesis Pharmaceuticals, Greentown Labs, Novartis, and Harvard Innovation Labs, they also had the chance to explore the history of science and technology in Cambridge’s Kendall Square neighborhood along the Innovation Trail, and the Boston area’s world-renowned academic ecosystem during a tour of Harvard.
The tour is the latest step in the school’s engagement in the Boston area. In March 2023, two study tours came to Boston as part of a deepening partnership between the HEG-FR and SBS. In March of 2022, Rico Baldegger, Dean and Professor at HEG-FR, and Amy Zeng, Dean of SBS, signed a five-year agreement between their schools aimed at deepening collaboration between the Swiss and Boston-area business education ecosystems.
School of Management Fribourg is part of the Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO). It offers bachelors and masters degrees in business administration as well as certificate and EMBA programs. Founded in 1991, the public university serves approximately 850 students hailing from Switzerland and abroad.
