Switzerland has quietly become a global powerhouse for deeptech innovation, and the numbers speak for themselves. ETH Zurich and EPFL rank #1 and #2 globally for alumni-founded deep tech startups, having produced 286 VC-backed ventures since 2020 — more than MIT, Stanford, and the Ivy League combined. Together, they also hold the two of the top three positions in European spinout value creation, with a combined 8 unicorns, $6.4 billion raised, and $24.2 billion in enterprise value since 2022.
Switzerland ranks in the top 3 in Europe for deeptech’s share of total VC funding at approximately 40%— yet the ecosystem remains significantly under-the-radar for US investors, presenting a compelling opportunity for early engagement.
Hosted at the Swiss Residence in Boston, this intimate reception offers a focused setting to discover what makes Switzerland such fertile ground for deeptech investment — from its world-class research institutions and R&D infrastructure to its concentration of engineering talent and track record of building category-defining companies.
You’ll also gain insight into pathways for engaging directly with Swiss startups and get a preview of the next edition of the Swiss Venture Connect Roadshow, returning in January 2027.
Attendance is by invitation only.

Frankenbuild VenturesCvic Innocent is ex-NASA and the Founding Partner of Frankenbuild Ventures. Outside of investing, Dr. Innocent has continued her international policy presence, including a technical letter presentation at the United Nations, participation at COP30, and, most recently, a satellite talk at the WEF in Davos. She founded Frankenbuild Ventures in 2023, was recently awarded the 2025 Startup Supporter/Investor of the Year by ACT, the largest national trade organization for hardtech in climate, and is excited to work alongside Partner Tom M and the rest of the growing Fv team.
Frankenbuild Ventures, F(v), invests in frontier technology, backing founders building the inevitable, underpriced, and foundational tech of the future. If it is dual-use, industrial, and sustainable (robots and hard tech in space, in the ocean, in computers, or underground), we have an eye for it. Fund I is a $25M opportunity targeting early-stage startups with defensible IP of cutting-edge, hardware/physical AI, manufacture-ready tech. Fv is also proud to be a VC Include fellow and listed as one of 25 national women-led firms, as identified by Recast Capital and Pivotal Ventures (a Melinda Gates VC firm, awarding us $100k).
