Switzerland has quietly become a global powerhouse for deeptech innovation, and the numbers speak for themselves. ETH Zurich and EPFL rank #1 and #2 globally for alumni-founded deep tech startups, having produced 286 VC-backed ventures since 2020 — more than MIT, Stanford, and the Ivy League combined. These Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology also hold the two of the top three positions in European spinout value creation, with a combined 8 unicorns, $6.4 billion raised, and $24.2 billion in enterprise value since 2022.

Switzerland ranks in the top 3 in Europe for deeptech’s share of total VC funding at approximately 40%— yet the ecosystem remains significantly under-the-radar for US investors, representing a compelling opportunity.

    Gilles Pitschen is a Swiss transactional lawyer who has spent over a decade advising international investors on cross‑border investments into Switzerland, from early‑stage financing rounds through to liquidity events. Multilingual and educated in Zurich and London, he brings both deep local expertise and a genuinely international perspective to complex transactions.

    By focusing on removing the friction that often discourages market entry into new jurisdictions and, Gilles has become a trusted partner to many foreign venture capital and private equity investors.

    Jean-Christian (“JC”) Jung is a serial entrepreneur and global venture builder with deep roots in climate tech, emerging industries, and cross-border business development. As Managing Partner of Anywhere Ventures (AV), he designs and operates programs that support founders from global market entry through to infrastructure deployment. He is also a Managing Partner at Global Sustainable Future (GSF) to finance large-scale clean technology projects. He previously co-founded Tarform, the electric motorcycle start-up redefining two-wheeled mobility through advanced manufacturing and clean technology, and has led the growth of multiple companies across the technology and business consulting sectors. JC has lived in seven countries across four continents, bringing a rare combination of hands-on entrepreneurial experience and global perspective to every venture he builds.
