July 22, 2025 | Boston & New York
This September, ten Swiss climatetech startups will travel to Boston and New York to build connections with their American peers, exchange expertise, and forge a closer bond between the Swiss and US climatetech ecosystems. The startups will undertake this journey as part of Climate Collider, a startup exchange program powered by Innosuisse and managed by Swissnex which aims to build a transatlantic startup community and foster international collaboration in climate innovation.
The startups kick off the exchange on September 15 in Boston, where they will take part in an intensive five-day program, during which they will trade insights and experience with local peers and experts in challenge workshops, feedback sessions, and networking events. The following week, the startups will travel to New York, where they will take part in Climate Week NYC, September 21-28, the world’s largest festival of climate action, activism, and culture.
The fall 2025 edition of Climate Collider features the following Swiss startups:
- Biosimo | Clean Manufacturing | Biosimo produces renewable platform chemicals, like bio-acetic acid, using ethanol from biomass and waste. Their proprietary catalytic process enables cost-effective, scalable production that matches fossil-based performance while slashing emissions.
- CellX Biosolutions | Clean Manufacturing | CellX develops tailored microbial solutions to break down persistent pollutants like PFAS, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and microplastics. Using microfluidics and robotics, they discover and scale bacteria that thrive in extreme environments, offering a sustainable alternative to incineration and filtration for industrial wastewater treatment.
- CompPair | Circular Economy | CompPair Technologies creates self-repairing composite materials that fix damage in minutes. Their HealTech™ prepregs extend product lifespans, reduce waste, and integrate seamlessly into existing manufacturing, advancing circularity in industries like aerospace, sports, and mobility.
- Correntics | Climate Intelligence | Correntics provides AI-powered analytics to help companies identify and mitigate climate-related vulnerabilities in their value chains. Their platform models physical and transition risks, like floods, heatwaves, and regulatory shifts, enabling proactive decisions for business continuity, compliance, and sustainability reporting.
- Gaia Turbine | Renewable Energy | Gaia Turbine designs ultra-efficient micro and mini hydroelectric turbines for aqueducts and low-flow water systems. Their plug-and-play technology delivers over 90% energy conversion efficiency, enabling decentralized renewable power generation with minimal infrastructure, ideal for sustainable utilities and remote communities.
- Hertzfeld Bioenergie | Circular Economy | Hertzfeld Bioenergie builds compact recycling systems that convert organic and plastic waste into cooking gas, liquid fertilizer, and recycled oil. Their decentralized tech helps communities reduce emissions and recover valuable resources, supporting a circular bioeconomy.
- KITRO | Circular Economy | KITRO helps commercial kitchens track and analyze discarded food using smart sensors and AI. Their plug-and-play system identifies waste patterns, enabling hospitality teams to cut costs and operate more sustainably without disrupting daily routines.
- REOR20 | Climate Intelligence |REOR20 uses physics-based artificial intelligence to simulate and forecast flood risks at high resolution and scale. Their platform combines computational fluid dynamics with real-world data to deliver actionable insights for insurers, governments, and communities, enabling smarter underwriting, faster disaster response, and climate-resilient planning.
- Riverkin | Climate Intelligence | Riverkin deploys ultra-low power sensors and predictive software to monitor freshwater systems in real time. Their scalable sensor ecosystem tracks flow, sediment, and water quality, helping hydropower operators detect risks like floods and erosion before they cause damage. By making river data as accessible as weather data, Riverkin empowers smarter decisions for climate-resilient infrastructure.
- #tide | Circular Economy | #tide collects and transforms ocean-bound plastic into high-quality, reusable material using a proprietary upcycling process. By partnering with coastal communities and global brands, they close the loop on plastic pollution while creating sustainable, traceable products for the circular economy.
