The Bootcamp was a mix of expert sessions, events, and mentorship meetings, providing the startups with knowledge and insights, in particular relating to differences between the Silicon Valley and Swiss startup ecosystems. Alexandru Popescu, one of the participants, shared with us his thoughts about the program: “The impact of this Bootcamp goes beyond my startup. I’m confident that the entire cohort has benefited immensely from this experience. The connections made and knowledge gained will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping our future endeavors.”
The participating startups had the opportunity to explore topics ranging from Pitching in the US and Brand 360 to Fundraising in the US. They also received guidance on legal matters, including Immigration Law, AI Regulation in the US, Data Privacy, and US IP/Trademark Protection, equipping them with the necessary tools for their future endeavors provided by experts from within our network.
The first week of the startup Bootcamp coincided with the AI Conference, in which the startups could pitch their projects. Joel Kaiser played the game and represented AIDONIC; it was a good call, because he finished second at the pitching exercise. This two-day event gave the startups an additional chance to network with a new audience and foster new connections.
The second week of the Bootcamp started with Pitching the Future in AI—Swissnex Startup Pitch Night at Pier 17, where the startups pitched their ideas to over a hundred guests. The audience crowned AIDONIC’s Joel Kaiser‘s pitch for the global fintech pioneer specializing in innovative solutions as the best of the evening. The startup facilitates financial services for the unbanked and efficiently secures financial aid for households affected by crises. A few days after the Bootcamp, Joel Kaiser conquered the East Coast, winning the Peace, Justice, & Inclusive Society Startup Competition in New York City.
The momentum continued into the second week, offering more insights and learnings. The startups gained an understanding of current market trends and were introduced to possible fundraising opportunities in the US through Investors Speed Date and Networking Dinners. Adding to this, they looked into the latest U.S. AI policies and received legal insights on VC financing.
On September 20, the startups headed back to Switzerland, taking with them a full backpack of knowledge and experiences. Meanwhile, our Startup team is shifting its focus to our upcoming startup Bootcamp taking place in Texas for the first time at the beginning of November 2024 with a mixed cohort. If you’d like to get to know this cohort, join us for the pitch night (more info coming soon on our upcoming events page) or connect with the startup team by reaching out to [email protected].
