Explore the interconnectedness between Swiss and US innovation ecosystems.
How do ideas, technologies, and innovation spread across borders? Inspired by the REFRESH Exhibition: Algorithmic Entanglements currently on display at Swissnex, and the quantum physics concept at its heart, this year’s Swissnex Alumni Night explores the deep interconnections between Swiss and global innovation ecosystems.
Quantum physics tells us that entangled particles remain connected regardless of distance, their identities emerging not from themselves alone but from their relationship. What does that mean beyond the subatomic — for how we collaborate, create, and innovate across borders? Through cross-disciplinary talks and discussions, experts from quantum science, design thinking, architecture, and the arts will share how entanglement shows up in their own practice and experience — and what it means to build genuine connection within systems we cannot fully see, but are already inside.
Join us for an evening of exploration, exchange, and inspiration — where ideas, disciplines, and people become entangled, and something larger than any one of us begins to emerge.

Armand Niederberger
Executive Director of the SPRC at Stanford UniversityArmand Niederberger is the Executive Director of the Stanford Photonics Research Center and Founder & CEO of ExNada Inc. Originally from Switzerland, he studied Physics at EPFL, wrote his Master’s thesis on quantum cryptography at the University of Geneva, and completed his PhD on ultracold quantum systems at ICFO in Barcelona. After his PhD, he joined Stanford University as a scientist before spending ten years in industry at HP Labs and various startups, working on algorithms, AI, and software engineering. Throughout, his career in physics has brought him into direct contact with several Nobel laureates, including Alain Aspect, Roy Glauber, W.E. Moerner, and Steve Chu. He bridges academia and industry, and his perspective on physics is shaped as much by building real systems as by studying fundamental science.
