Entangling Ecosystems

On October 13 in Geneva, the Swissnex Quantum Summit 2025 will bring together key ecosystem builders across borders and across sectors to discuss how to accelerate breakthroughs and shape the quantum economy, from education and research to commercialization and scaling.

Swissnex Quantum Summit 2025

In recognition of the hundredth anniversary of the development of quantum mechanics, the UN has declared 2025 the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. Building on a century of quantum research, recent breakthroughs have brought us to the threshold of a new quantum era. In order to realize the benefits of these transformative technologies, governments, universities, and companies across the world are investing heavily in quantum research and innovation, as well as talent and workforce development.

The Swissnex Quantum Summit will explore the best practices in building robust quantum ecosystems at the local and national levels, and connecting them across borders. The summit is one element of Swiss Quantum Week, a series of events in Geneva inviting the world to connect with Swiss excellence in quantum research, innovation, education, and governance.

Connecting Ecosystem Builders

The Swissnex Quantum Summit seeks participants actively shaping quantum ecosystems and supporting the growth of this new technology in their respective countries, including those from:

  • Universities developing quantum education and translation programs
  • Quantum research centers involved in developing the broader ecosystem
  • Government agencies involved in quantum strategies, infrastructure, and funding
  • Quantum accelerators, incubators, and innovation centers
  • Quantum startups, corporations, and industry associations
  • Investors targeting quantum technologies and applications
  • Industry players active in developing use cases for quantum

Objectives

The summit will work to fulfill three objectives:

  • Exchange best practices across borders | Presenting the key examples from various countries and identifying best practices in building quantum ecosystems
  • Build international collaborations | Finding multi-country synergies and joining forces on specific initiatives, such as accelerators or talent-building programs
  • Experience Swiss quantum | Learning and engaging with the best of Swiss quantum education, research, and innovation

Format

The interactive one-day summit will be limited to around 70 participants, in order to seek the active participation of all attendees through:

    • Topical panels | A series of panel discussions on challenges and best practices in building and connecting quantum ecosystems. Topics will include: national quantum strategies, fostering cross-sector knowledge exchange, the role of accelerators and investors, and fostering a value pipeline from quantum talent to commercial applications.
    • Flash talks | 5-minute introductions to key researchers, companies, centers, and ecosystem builders.
    • Breakouts | A series of moderated “conversation cafés” – interactive discussions in sub-groups – to address common challenges and opportunities.
    • Networking | The ability to schedule individual or small-group side meetings, as well as ample networking time during breaks, lunch, and a closing reception.

Swiss Quantum Week

The Swissnex Quantum Summit, held on October 13, 2025 at Campus Biotech in Geneva, is one part of the newly launched Swiss Quantum Week. This series of events over one week in Geneva will showcase the best of Swiss quantum from several angles. Other planned events include:

  • Swissnex Quantum Summit 2025 | October 13, Campus Biotech Geneva | International ecosystem builders conference focused on exploring best practices and building collaborations and connections
  • Quantum Industry Day in Switzerland | October 14, International Conference Center Geneva | Premier annual meeting in the Swiss quantum ecosystem featuring  industry and innovation actors
  • GESDA Summit | October 15-17, CERN Science Gateway | Annual summit of the Geneva Science Diplomacy Anticipator including a track on GESDA’s quantum efforts
  • QAI Ventures Hackathon | October 17-18, Geneva | Quantum enthusiasts gather for a 48-hour competition to craft meaningful applications of quantum technologies for the UN Sustainable Development Goals
