Swiss Consul & CEO, Dr. Felix Moesner, and Head of Art-Science, Fiammetta Pennisi, were delighted to host the 7th nexCafé event, “Japan’s Startup Ecosystem in the XR and Gaming Industry,” alongside our esteemed partner, Nathalie Pichard from ArtTech Foundation.
The insights shared by the speakers highlighted Japan’s appeal as an innovation hub, attracting numerous startups. In the Kansai region, there’s a strong inclination towards forming partnerships and collaborations within the growing XR and gaming industries.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our five exceptional presenters who provided captivating insights into XR and gaming: Mélodie Mousset from PatchXR, David Javet from GameLab UNIL-EPFL, who joined us online from Switzerland, and Dwayne Grech from Hello xLAB, Dan Stern from DANGEN Entertainment, Farid Enrique Ben Amor from SimulumiS (Koto3D by MetaGears Koto), who joined us in person in Japan.
We were also honored by the presence of special guests in the audience! Thank you to Aaron Hilton, Laurie Griffiths from Steampunk Digital, and Stephane Vogley from SimulumiS (Koto3D by MetaGears Koto). The impromptu 3D scanning demonstration by Steampunk Digital wonderfully kicked off the networking reception in Osaka!
It was truly a pleasure to host this first hybrid meeting, fostering knowledge exchange, discussions, and potential collaborations among professionals interested in exploring business opportunities in Japan’s thriving creative sector.
