Six Swiss Startups conquering Texas

From November 4 to November 15, the Startup Texas Camp powered by Innosuisse will take place in Austin and Houston. For two weeks, Texas will become the new playground of six Swiss startups from various industries, working towards a better tomorrow and looking to immerse themselves in the Texas ecosystem.

The six startups participating in the first Startup Camp in Texas are:

  • Auxivo AG, a Swiss exoskeleton spin-off from ETH Zurich, enhances worker safety with wearable exoskeletons that reduce physical workload and injury risk. The company has quickly established itself as a leading developer, launching multiple products in the market.
  • Authena advances supply chains with real-time technology, improving transparency, efficiency, and sustainability. Their eco-friendly IoT devices and AI analytics, developed with leading Swiss universities, offer single-unit visibility for tracking and actionable insights.
  • Magnes AG offers a cutting-edge solution for monitoring walking patterns in patients with neurological disorders. Smart sensors in sneakers collect data during daily activities, and AI generates reports and real-time feedback to prevent falls and freezing.
  • Mynerva has developed a groundbreaking medical device combining AI and neurostimulation to artificially restore the sense of touch and
decrease pain in patients suffering from diabetic neuropathy.
  • Biosimo specializes in sustainable chemical production using renewable resources and green chemistry. They combine bioprocessing with advanced catalysis to create environmentally friendly, scalable solutions.
  • ORamaVR aims to transform global healthcare with advanced XR and deep learning technologies, addressing the urgent issue of inaccessible and unaffordable surgical care by modernizing outdated medical training systems.

The Camp will be a mix of expert sessions, events, and mentorship meetings, providing the startups with knowledge and insights, in particular relating to differences between the Texas and Swiss startup ecosystems.

The participating startups will have the opportunity to explore topics ranging from CPA and Financial Structuring to Brand Strategy. They will also receive guidance on Business Insurance and Risk Management, equipping them with the necessary tools for their future endeavors provided by experts from Austin and Houston.

The first week of the startup Camp will take place in Austin, from November 4 to November 8, and will provide the participating startups with insights and knowledge about the US market through sessions like Incorporation Strategy, Sales and GTM, and an HR Session.
This first week will include a pitch night – Swiss Startups Night: Pitches & Brisket, on November 6, right after the election, in which the startups will take advantage of the crowd in the city and pitch their projects.

The second week of the Camp will take place in Houston, from November 11 to November 15, and will begin with a Leadership Session, offering the startups with more insights and learnings on the US leadership culture. The startups will have the opportunity to understand the current market trends through various sessions and benefit from IP Individual Sessions. In addition, they will have the opportunity to visit the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world—which positions Houston as a global leader in medical research and healthcare innovation.

After these two intensive weeks, the cohort will be heading back to Switzerland with, we hope, new strategies and prospects for their startups.
