On May 17th, Swissnex in China, in collaboration with MANA New Media Art Platform, will host a workshop on computational museology, bridging the arts and cutting-edge technology together. The workshop will feature Professor Sarah Kenderdine, Director and Lead Curator of EPFL Pavilions, Director of the Laboratory for Experimental Museology at the EPFL, and the lead curator of the exhibition “Cosmos Archaeology”.

Professor Sarah Kenderdine will take participants on an interdisciplinary journey through the realms of science and art, using “Cosmos Archaeology” as a starting point. Attendees will delve into topics such as interactive archives and emergent narratives, deep fakes and blockchain sovereignties, embodied knowledge systems and performative interfaces, and scientific visualization for museums in the age of experience. This workshop, grounded in practical insights from years of curatorial experience in computational museology, aims to inspire arts professionals to explore more diverse perspectives from the realms of science, art, and humanities. It advocates for deep integration and application of immersive visualisation technologies, visual analytics, aesthetics and cultural (big) data.
