Swiss Materials for a Better Future @ Design Shanghai

At Design Shanghai, one of Asia’s leading design events, Swiss institutions and designers will be joining the New Material and Application Exhibition area with their work and point of view for future crafts.

Spring has arrived with sound news of a good variety of cultural events. At the top of the list comes Design Shanghai, one of the leading design events in Asia. And for this time, Swissnex in China is invited to represent Empa, the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology at the New Material and Application Exhibition area curated by Neuni.

During the 4-day exhibition from 6-9 March, innovative materials and applications from Switzerland will be promoted, with other new materials made with the most advanced technologies and products featured in the trends of “Future Craft,” “Residual Impact,” and “Bio-digitalization”. As an interdisciplinary research institute of the ETH Domain, Empa conducts cutting-edge materials and technology research and will showcase for Design Shanghai the innovative product Sonowood, Gold Coated Fiber, Optical Fiber Sensors and Smart Textiles etc. In addition to the exhibits from Empa, the world’s most advanced anti-counterfeiting technology as seen on Swiss Bank notes will also be on display and the Swiss brands like Egli studio and Schoenstaub will bring their products to the show as well.

On 8th March, Dr. Felix Moesner, CEO of the Swissnex in China will represent Empa as a guest speaker to share Swiss efforts and achievements in science, technology, ecology and materials with the audience at the design forum.
