Jan Kerschgens
Executive Director, Center for Intelligent Systems, EPFLJan Kerschgens serves as the Executive Director of the EPFL Center for Intelligent Systems. He received a PhD degree in Bioengineering from EPFL in 2009 and holds a Diploma (Master equivalent) of the University of Heidelberg with majors in Biophysics and Biochemistry. He also pursued trainings in project management and holds an Executive MBA in General Management and Finance from the Haute Ecole de Commerce de Lausanne (2014). Jan Kerschgens has worked in management positions related to research and development, innovation and technology transfer (towards the public and private domain) within the industry, the non-profit start-up sector and the Swiss Federal public research sector since 2010. He further serves since 2015 pro-bono as coach and mentor for Swiss state-funded Innosuisse start-up creation programs.

Anastasia Bolotnikova
Senior Researcher, Biorobotics Laboratory, EPFLAnastasia Bolotnikova is a postdoctoral researcher at Biorobotics Laboratory of Professor Auke Ijspeert and Reconfigurable Robotics Laboratory of Professor Jamie Paik at EPFL. She is leading the collaborative initiative of the Center for Intelligent Systems on Assistive Distributed Robotics. The focus of this project is on development and integration of the robotics solution into an Intelligent Assistive Environment. Anastasia has received her M.Sc diploma in Computer Science from University of Tartu, Estonia, in 2017. She received her Ph.D. diploma in Robotics from the University of Montpellier, France, in March of 2021. During her Ph.D studies she was working as a robotics researcher at SoftBank Robotics Europe (Paris). The focus of her doctoral research was on the use of humanoid robot technology for assistance to frail or elderly. Her current research interests include robot control, motion planning, human-robot interaction and the application of robotics technologies in the context of assistance for people with special needs.

Kyong Hwan Jin
Professor, Department of Information and Communication Engineering, DGISTProfessor Kyong Hwan Jin received the B.S and Ph.D degrees in Bio and Brain Engineering from KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea, in 2008 and 2015, respectively. From 2015 to 2016, he was a researcher at KAIST. From 2016 to 2019, he was a postdoctoral scholar at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. From 2019 to 2021, he was a staff engineer at Samsung Research, Seoul, South Korea. As of February 16th 2021, Professor Kyong Hwan Jin was appointed to the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at DGIST.
His research interests include image processing with deep neural networks, inverse problems, computational photography, and multi-dimensional/channel signal processing.
