Jean-Marc Triscone is Professor of Physics in the Department of Quantum Matter Physics at the University of Geneva, leading a group working on correlated oxide heterostructures and oxide interface physics.

Jean-Marc Triscone obtained his PhD in 1987 in Geneva with Professor Øystein Fischer. In 1990-1991 and in 1995 he was a visiting scientist at Stanford University. Since 1996, he has been a full Professor in Geneva. Between 2001 and 2007 he has been Deputy-director of the National Center of Competence in Research MaNEP. Between July 2007 and June 2014, he was the Dean of the Faculty of sciences in Geneva. Since July 2015, he is a Vice-president of the University of Geneva.

With over 240 publications, over 16’000 citations and an h-index of 55, he is since 2006 a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He obtained in 2013 an ERC Synergy grant. He was awarded, with Harold Hwang and Jochen Mannhart, the 2014 European Physical Society Condensed Matter Division Europhysics Prize “For the discovery and investigation of electron liquids at oxide interfaces”.

Anders Hagström is Head of International Affairs in the Office of the President at ETH Zürich. Before taking up his present position in 2008 he was project manager of ETH World, an ICT development program for education, research and services. Career stations before joining ETH Zürich in 1999 include various positions in the field of continuing professional development and lifelong learning for engineers at Helsinki University of Technology, the International Association for Continuing Engineering Education (IACEE), the University of Cambridge and the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI).

Roderick Lim studied applied physics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his PhD in 2003 from the National University of Singapore for his work on the nanoscale properties of confined liquids. In 2004, he moved to the Biozentrum, University of Basel to undertake postdoctoral research with Prof. Ueli Aebi. He was subsequently awarded the 2008 P-G. de Gennes Prize “From Solid State to Biophysics” for his use of biomimetic approaches to studying the nuclear pore complex. In 2009, he was appointed Argovia Professor for Nanobiology at the Biozentrum and the Swiss Nanoscience Institute, University of Basel, where he received tenure in 2014. His lab studies biological nanomachines and explores how their functional properties can be leveraged towards bio-inspired applications. Lim is also a co-inventor of ARTIDIS® “Automated and Reliable Tissue Diagnostics”, an atomic force microscope-based innovation for cancer diagnosis.

Harald Gall is Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Informatics at the University of Zurich (UZH). Furthermore, he is a professor of Software Engineering in the Department of Informatics at UZH. Prior to that, Harald Gall was an associate professor at the Technical University of Vienna in the Distributed Systems Group (TUV), where he also got his PhD (Dr. techn.) and master’s degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Informatics.

His research interests are in software engineering with a focus on software evolution, software architectures, software quality analysis, program families, cloud-based software engineering, IoT, and distributed and mobile software engineering.

Harald Gall is probably best known for his work on software evolution analysis and mining software archives. Since 1997 he has worked on devising ways in which mining these repositories can help to better understand software development, to devise predictions about quality attributes, and to exploit this knowledge in software analysis tools such as Evolizer or ChangeDistiller.

Binlu Huang obtained her PhD degree in cell biology from Tsinghua University. Later, she joined Biozentrum, University of Basel as a postdoc in Prof. Roderick Lim’s group. Then she moved back to China, exploring immunotherapy potential to cure solid tumors at CAS and Immunochina. To improve public health on a large scale, she is now the co-founder and tech lead of CellX, which is a cellular agriculture startup, working to bring cultivated meat products to consumers in China and around the world.

Xueying Mao is the Chief Representative at rqmicro AG China Office. She has a bachelor’s degree in control science and engineering from Zhejiang University and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from ETH Zurich. Since 2017 Xueying is working for rqmicro, an ETH spin-off company in biotechnology with a focus on water safety. Her job mainly includes distributor management, marketing and business development.
Xueying is based in Shanghai and is currently the Head of ETH Alumni Shanghai Chapter.

Feng Lin is currently Protocol and Events Coordinator of Consulate General of Canada in Shanghai. She used to work for the Consulate General of France in Shanghai. She holds a MA in European Studies from Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva. During her last semester of Master Degree, she accomplished a three-month internship at the United Nations Office in Geneva. She achieved her Bachelor Degree in French from East China Normal University in 2012.

Caitlyn obtained her bachelor’s degree in Asset Appraisal from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics and her master’s degree in Business Management from University of Zurich. During her master’s program, Caitlyn worked at SwissCham Shanghai to promote Sino-Swiss sustainable businesses. After graduation, Cait joined the Brand Risk Management team at PayPal in early 2020 and currently serves as Enhanced Due Diligence Investigator specialised in anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing. She was also honored as one of UZH alumni SHA Board Members.
