Learn moreTo highlight the project and exhibition “Automated Photography” by ECAL (École cantonale d'art de Lausanne), the Embassy of Switzerland in Korea brings together experts of multimedia and photography from Switzerland and Korea in an Open Talk. Not only the stories behind the project will be shared, but also the experts’ views about the latest photography trends of the two countries will be shared during the Open Talk. The future avenues of the new means of art, combining a traditional and practical approach, will be addressed and the floor will be open to the audience for exchange.

Marco De Mutiis
Digital Curator at Fotomuseum Winterthur, Researcher at Hochschule LuzernMarco De Mutiis is Digital Curator at Fotomuseum Winterthur and PhD researcher at the Centre for the Centre for the Study of the Networked Image at London South Bank University. His research focuses on the changing role of the photographic image in digital and networked cultures. He co-created and co-hosts Screen Walks, a series of live streams with artists and photographers using the screen as their medium, and he has recently curated the major group exhibition How to Win at Photography, exploring the relationship between image-making and play.

Florian Amoser
Artistic Deputy, Bachelor and Master Photography at ECAL and University of Art and Design LausanneFlorian Amoser (born 1990) is a photographer and works as an artistic associate at ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne. He holds a BA from ECAL and a BSc in Architecture from ETH Zürich. His work explores the various aspects of human perception. Ever since photography was invented, humans have used it as an instrument to extend the limits of their ability to observe. Consequently, the technological development of the photographic apparatus has a decisive influence on our perception. Florian Amoser builds his own original tools for his artistic works, which make new photographic images possible. Florian is a FOAM Talent 2019 laureate and got the 2018 photography grant of the Canton of Solothurn. His work has been shown at FOAM, Fotomuseum Winterthur, Centre Photographie de Genève, Festival Vevey Images.

Chung Yean Cho
Professor, Department of Multimedia, School of Film & MultimediaChung Yean graduated from Korean National University of Arts(K’arts) and studied digital art at School of Fine Arts, Carnegie Mellon University. He explores new possibilities of media performance in virtual reality and also seeks new aesthetics of noise, error & failure which are established by the hi-tech digital environment.
Currently, he is conducting collaborative research projects about VR Therapy for Mental Health with K’arts and Korea University Hospital commissioned by NRF (2022-2027) and Metaverse Art Platforms projects commissioned by KCCA (2021-2023).

Hyewon Kwon
ArtistHyewon Kwon captures stories of individuals and spaces hidden from historical records and reconstructs them into videos, after researching places associated with particular past events and memories. She graduated from Korean National University of Arts and studied media art at Slade School of Fine Arts, University College London. Hyewon Kwon was selected for the Bloomberg New Contemporary(UK) in 2011 and awarded the second prize from Joongang Fine Art Prize in 2012. She also participated in the SeMA Nanji Residency, the Seoul Museum of Art (2016) and the Goyang Residency, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (2017). Her recent exhibitions include 《Garden of Imagination》(National Museum of Contemporary Art, 2021), 《Vast and Slow》(Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, 2021). She won the grand prize at the 19th Song Eun Art Awards(2019).
