
In this seminar, we will feature Prof. Abraham Bernstein, Professor and Director, University of Zurich, who will discuss two examples of such AI for good, while highlighting the need for an interdisciplinary perspective. We will also welcome Prof. Yasuo Deguchi, Dean and Professor of Philosophy of the Graduate School of Letters, Kyoto University, and Dr. Atsushi Sakahara, CEO, Logiglish, who will each share their expertise on artificial intelligence from philosophical and industrial perspectives, respectively. The event concludes with a panel discussion among the three speakers, allowing for an interdisciplinary conversation on the use of AI, followed by a networking reception.

Prof. Abraham Bernstein
Professor and Director, University of ZurichAbraham Bernstein is a Professor of Informatics at the University of Zurich (UZH), Switzerland. His research focuses on combining human and artificial intelligence effectively, drawing on social science and technical foundations.
He is also a founding Director of the UZH’s Digital Society Initiative — a university-wide initiative with ~1300 scientists investigating all aspects of the digital transformation.
Prior to joining UZH, Mr. Bernstein was a faculty member at NYU and worked in industry. -

Prof. Yasuo Deguchi
Dean and Professor of Philosophy of Graduate School of Letters, Kyoto UniversityBorn in 1962. Graduated from and completed a doctoral program at the Faculty of Letters at Kyoto University. Ph.D. in Letters.
His research fields include modern and contemporary Western philosophy and analytic Asian philosophy. -
