Tongji, Genève, & Qingdao Universities Collaborations

From Switzerland to Shanghai and Qingdao, Professor Elizabeth Fischer will work with the two Chinese Universities for cross province Sino-Swiss programs.

Swissnex in China Supported by Swissnex in China, Professor Elizabeth Fischer, head of the Bachelor’s and Master’s Program in Fashion, Jewelry, Watches and Accessories at Geneva Institute of Art and Design, will come to China to attend a series of event aimed to establish future collaborations between The Geneva School of art and Design (HEAD- Genève), Tongji Design & Innovation College (D&I), and Qingdao University.

 

Elizabeth Fischer

Professor Elizabeth Fischer focuses on the broad cultural history of decorations, covering fashion, jewelry, clocks, accessories, body decorations, clothing, fabrics and other aspects, and explores the relationship between body and accessories and clothing. At the same time, she often participates in scientific cooperation projects, plans exhibitions, gives speeches at major institutions, museums and seminars around the world, and has published a large number of articles on jewelry and fashion.

As part of the Tongji Design week 2019, the talk will give a brief overview of the various art and design programs at HEAD – Genève, then focus on the challenges awaiting Fashion, jewellery, watch and accessory design in the 21st century. The lecture will address more specifically the notion of innovation and how to work on this concept in design education.
