Open Call | One Health Joint Research Projects 2026

This call for joint research projects allows researchers in Switzerland to collaborate with academic partners in India on research that adopts a One Health approach, focusing on the interconnected health of humans, animals and the environment. The deadline to submit applications is 5 May 2026.

As part of the federal government’s bilateral programmes, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), together with the Indian Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), has launched this call for joint research projects, which allow researchers in Switzerland to carry out a joint research project with a partner in India.

The call supports research projects that adopt the One Health approach, which focuses on the interconnected health of humans, animals and the environment.

Up to ten projects of up to four years’ duration can be funded, provided a sufficient number of high-quality proposals are submitted. The maximum funding for the Swiss side is CHF 400,000 per project.

The SNSF will cover the research costs in Switzerland, while the DBT and ICMR will fund the costs of projects in India. Interested researchers are encouraged to contact potential partners in India to prepare a joint application.
