AI For Good

AI has been ascribed with many negative effects on society ranging from echo chambers, filter bubbles, and the polarization of society to privacy incursions. But “correctly” used AI can also help to curb negative effects, actually helping society to escape echo chambers, bridge polarization, and encourage democratic participation.

In this seminar, we will feature Prof. Abraham Bernstein, Professor and Director, University of Zurich, who will discuss two examples of such AI for good, while highlighting the need for an interdisciplinary perspective. We will also welcome Prof. Yasuo Deguchi, Dean and Professor of Philosophy of the Graduate School of Letters, Kyoto University, and Dr. Atsushi Sakahara, CEO, Logiglish, who will each share their expertise on artificial intelligence from philosophical and industrial perspectives, respectively. The event concludes with a panel discussion among the three speakers, allowing for an interdisciplinary conversation on the use of AI, followed by a networking reception.
