

The evening opened with welcoming remarks from Felix Moesner, Consul & CEO of Swissnex in Japan, setting the stage for insightful discussions on the role of women in shaping the future. A highlight of the event was the showcase of the Women’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 by June Miyachi, President & CEO of Cartier Japan. The pavilion will stand as a symbol of empowerment, fostering dialogue and action towards a more equitable society.
Distinguished Consulate Generals from various countries attended the event, each presenting their respective pavilions at Expo 2025 and underscoring their dedication to advancing gender equity. Their contributions emphasized the importance of global collaboration in addressing societal challenges through innovation and inclusion.
Founded in 2018, Kansai Global Society (KGS) is an NPO dedicated to fostering international perspectives and promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Kansai and beyond. By bringing together individuals and organizations committed to globalism, KGS serves as a vital platform for cross-cultural exchange and impactful initiatives.
The event was a collaborative effort, supported by the Japan Association of University Women (JAUW) Kobe Chapter, the Japan-Vietnam Goodwill Association, CHIC – Kansai International Community, and endorsed by key regional institutions, including Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Kobe City, JICA Kansai, the Osaka Chamber of Commerce, the Kobe Chamber of Commerce & Industries, and the Indian Chamber of Commerce – Japan.
As Expo 2025 approaches, such gatherings reaffirm the power of community-driven efforts in shaping a more inclusive world. By fostering leadership and innovation through diversity, we move one step closer to a future where opportunity and representation know no boundaries.

The Kansai Global Society (KGS) was formed as an NPO in 2018 by a few volunteers (Julian Burt, William Foran, Kei Foran) in celebration of Japan’s 150th anniversary of opening to the world.
