    Prof. Dr. Torsten Hoefler

    Professor of Computer Science, ETH Zürich & Chief Architect for Machine Learning, CSCS

    Torsten Hoefler is a Professor at ETH Zurich and Chief Architect for Machine Learning at CSCS. A Fellow of the ACM and IEEE, he is a global leader in high-performance computing (HPC) and deep learning optimization. His research bridges the gap between massive-scale supercomputing infrastructure and modern AI workloads, making him a central figure in Europe’s push for sovereign compute capabilities. He is a recipient of the ACM Gordon Bell Prize and the IEEE Sidney Fernbach Award

    Director, NCCR Automation & Professor of Computation and Control, ETH Zürich

    Prof. Dr. John Lygeros is the Director of NCCR Automation and Professor of Computation and Control at ETH Zurich. A Fellow of the IEEE, he is a leading authority on control theory and large-scale dynamical systems, focusing on the intersection of algorithms and physical environments. His research ensures that intelligent systems can reliably manage critical infrastructure, with key applications in energy grids, transportation, and advanced manufacturing. He is a recipient of the IFAC Outstanding Service Award and the 2024 HSCC Test of Time Award.
