With the declining population and advancement of AI, skill development is more important than ever in Japanese society. In this seminar, we will delve into the innovative learning environments in Japanese education and industry, which allow young and experienced talent to cultivate relevant skills in the current society. We will welcome Dr. Felix Moesner (Swissnex in Japan), Dr. Chihiro Nakagawa (Institute of Engineering, Osaka Metropolitan University), Mr. Shimpeita Matsumoto (Dragon Recruitment Japan K.K), and Mr. Dwayne Grech (HelloxLab) as speakers, all of whom are passionate about skill development in Japan and willing to discuss potential connections with Switzerland.

With a background in sociology and international relations, Monika has worked in the field of international cooperation in education for more than 10 years. She has been part of the Movetia team since its launch in 2017 and has been involved in different sectors. Now she is responsible for strategic projects and partnerships.

Dr. Felix Moesner is the Science Consul of the Consulate of Switzerland & CEO of Swissnex in Japan. With a PhD in robotics, he studied at ETH Zurich, the University of Tokyo, and MIT. He acquired comprehensive professional experience in government, industry, and academia. In 2003-12, he worked as Science Counsellor at the Embassy of Switzerland in Tokyo, continued as CEO of Swissnex in Boston & New York from 2012-2017, and CEO of Swissnex in China from 2017-2021.

Chihiro Nakagawa is an Associate Professor at Osaka Metropolitan University. She received Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, University of Tokyo. She has concurrently served as a Senior Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan. She is the Director of Parliamentary Debate Personnel Development Association (PDA), where she promotes the introduction of parliamentary debate into school education. She is a member of the Neyagawa City Board of Education.

After graduating from the University of Canberra with a degree in Sports Management, Shimpeita Matsumoto has accumulated 17 years of experience working with British, Singaporean, Japanese, and Irish recruitment firms, engaging in a wide range of recruitment activities in APAC region. Since April 2024, he has been running Dragon Recruitment Japan K.K.
