Innovation Through Diversity: The Role of Women in Shaping the Future
As part of her visit, State Secretary Hirayama will be participating in a panel discussion exploring the critical role of gender diversity in driving innovation and growth across various sectors. The discourse will also touch upon different talking points including the impact of women’s leadership on organisational culture and decision-making processes, the role of education and policy in supporting diversity and women empowerment in the innovation sector, as well as men as positive role models in the work environment.
In 2023, we initiated dialogues around gender bias and career management during menopause. This conversation engaged stakeholders from diverse sectors, including corporations with initiatives to empower women in the workforce, healthcare startups specialising in menopause support, and organisations dedicated to advancing this cause. Subsequently, a roadshow supported by Tech4Eva, a global incubator backing fem-tech startups was conducted. This roadshow targeted women’s healthcare startups across diverse themes, showcasing the latest technological advancements available in the field.
Switzerland and India both acknowledge the contributions of women in the workforce, jointly advancing the conversations towards gender equity. Via Innovation Through Diversity (see Winspiration 2023), Swissnex in India highlights issues and challenges surrounding this cause and showcases women leaders to bring about positive change.
