Swissnex in India, along with Frontiers and the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS), is organising the ‘Responsibility and Trust in the Age of AI Workshop’ that will delve into how institutions, funders and publishers can uphold ethical standards in research; how AI affects publishing ethics, language accessibility and democratisation of research; and how cross-national collaboration can improve research practices and trust in science.
The complexity of modern technological progress and research, particularly in data and AI, introduces powerful tools, but also raises important ethical questions. AI, in particular, holds promise for innovation while simultaneously posing significant challenges to research integrity.
Addressing these responsibilities cannot happen in silos and requires collaborative engagement across borders and sectors. Transparent communication, shared best practices and commitment to high standards are essential for sustaining public trust in science. This workshop will bring together stakeholders from Switzerland and India to explore their roles in promoting responsible research. The idea is to spark dialogue, mutual learning and potential partnerships.
Her Excellency Maya Tissafi, Ambassador of Switzerland to India and Bhutan will deliver a keynote address during the inaugural session.
