Presenting over 100 outstanding works by more than 50 designers, a showcase of 5 leading institutions from Switzerland and China in the field of contemporary accessory design will be held in College of Design and Innovation (D&I) of Tongji University, Shanghai, China.
The Geneva School of art and Design (HEAD – Genève), which is one of the major institutions of art and design education in Europe, and features Bachelor and Master courses of study in various field of art and design, will bring from Switzerland to Shanghai the recent designs by students as well as selected pieces from their exhibition in Hong Kong.
The contemporary design of ring, watch, earring, handbag and many other kinds of accessory will be included in the exhibits. The usage of different materials and shapes will bring fresh and interesting aura and various visual effect to the exhibition.
To create a Sino-Swiss dialogue through the exhibition, Tongji University gathered 3 other top universities, Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), China Academy of Art (CAA) and Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua for presenting their selected works from students in this field.
In terms of better communication and understanding, a roundtable discussion with theme of “From the Present to the Future” will be held on the opening day, April 6th2018. Prof. Jean-Pierre Greff, Director of HEAD – Genève and Prof. SUN Jie, Head of The New Center of Contemporary Jewelry and Design Culture (NoCC) of D&I, as well as representatives from 3 other institutions will attend and exchange their insights. Additionally, Prof. Esther Brinkmann, founder of the Jewelry Design Department of HEAD – Genève will conduct a professional workshop during the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to public with no charge until April 27th.
