As part of swisstech @ Web Summit Rio 2025, the session “Innovation Beyond Borders: Shaping a Sustainable Future Together” explores how innovation and collaboration can drive solutions to global socio-environmental challenges.
Organized by the Embassy of Switzerland in Brazil, this high-level ession will open with a keynote by Andrea Caroni, President of the Swiss Council of States. Named the world’s most innovative country for the 14th consecutive year by WIPO’s Global Innovation Index, Switzerland is a leader in research and technology. Yet in the face of today’s pressing economic, social, and environmental challenges, innovation alone is not enough. Meaningful progress will depend on international collaboration. In Brazil’s dynamic and competitive market, Swiss companies are making a difference by combining long-term investment strategies with breakthrough innovation and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Following the keynote, a panel discussion will feature Tereza Campello of Brazil’s National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and Jairo Rozenblit of Swiss tech leader Logitech. Since 2023, the Swiss government has proudly supported the Amazon Fund, managed by BNDES, a key national actor in infrastructure and sustainability. Logitech, meanwhile, is a prime example of Swiss private-sector excellence, leveraging cutting-edge R&D and sustainable practices to lead in local and global markets.
The session will take place at Stage 3 in Pavilion 4 of Web Summit Rio, as part of the content track called Corporate Innovation Summit. For directions, please download this venue map. It will be taking place primarily in Portuguese. Listen along with live English translations by using LiveVoice, accessible via the menu in the Web Summit Rio app.
