Fungi at Selva de Pedra

Take a ride to the fungi kingdom through the impressions of the immersive experience in the Amazon by the Fungi Cosmology team.

Swissnex in Brazil and Labverde invite you to a sensory and immersive dinner to discuss food issues and their relationship with our body and the Amazon ecosystem. It will be a gastronomic experience, signed by chef Murilo Selva and artist Jorgge Menna Barreto, with unconventional and organic foods to celebrate the Fungi Cosmology project.

After ten days in the region of Manaus for field research, the Fungi Cosmology project team changes the scenery and moves from the Amazônia to the Selva de Pedra (São Paulo). Fungi continuously transform the materiality of our world and build a wide network of relationships, of life and death, with a diversity of organisms in a chain, being the web that sustains each ecosystem.

The evening will give you a glimpse of what has been observed during the Amazon field trip:

  • Welcome words from the organizers
  • Get together to share about the project and experience new sensations through specially created art-food
  • Liveshow from Nelson D.

This program is a co-creation between Labverde (Amazon) and Casa-Museu Alberto Baeriswyl (Patagonia). It was shaped together with FoodCulture days and the Artists in Labs program at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), in collaboration with by Pro-Helvetia and Swissnex in Brazil, and has a partnership with The National Institute of Aonian Research (INPA), Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL) and Magallanes University.
