In a momentous celebration that brought together the local Swiss community and friends in Japan, the Swissnex Open House marked the public opening of the Consulate of Switzerland in Osaka / Swissnex in Japan. Hosted by Swiss Consul Dr. Felix Moesner and his dedicated team, this event not only showcased a vibrant cultural exchange but also set the stage for exciting collaborations in the fields of education, research, and innovation.

They shared their vision for the future, highlighting the upcoming 160th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Switzerland, the 50th Anniversary of Heidi Animation in 2024, and the eagerly anticipated Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. The exclusive tour of the backstage area, including the Swissnex office, provided guests with a unique glimpse into the consulate’s inner workings.

Following the informative sessions, the atmosphere shifted to one of excitement and camaraderie during the networking session. Guests had the opportunity to connect and engage with like-minded individuals, fostering relationships that will undoubtedly contribute to the strengthening of bilateral ties between Switzerland and Japan. The Swissnex team, true to their commitment to cultural exchange, treated guests to delectable Swiss raclette and drinks, adding a flavorful touch to the celebration.

As the first Science Consulate in Japan and the sixth main location of the global Swissnex network, our team is poised to deepen collaborations between universities, research institutions, and startups in both nations. The focus on strategic areas such as Quantum Science, AI, Robotics, and Spacetech reflects a commitment to advancing research and innovation on an international scale.
