The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) Staff Mobility Program is a professional development programme that offers university staff members (excluding students) the opportunity to work in India for anywhere between two weeks to two months on any topic they like. Applicants can work on research- or project-based undertakings, peer learning-based projects or long-term projects. We’ll help you connect with the right people in India to advance your work, develop your research and professional expertise, exchange knowledge, immerse yourself in the local research ecosystem and potentially deliver a research product to both Swissnex and ZHAW.
Applications are now open for the 2025 cohort until 15 November 2024.
For information on eligibility and application process, please visit the Swissnex in Boston site (link is on the right hand side of this page).

"Through Swissnex I had the opportunity to speak at conferences like the India Global Innovation Connect. The team was very welcoming—we visited parks, hidden street food gems and beer joints in our free time. I have learnt a lot from my various interview partners about entrepreneurial success based on hospitality, resilience, flexibility and inclination to innovation."

Read my blog"The openness and willingness of the teams to share their knowledge made each workshop a unique learning experience. The creative methods used there opened up new perspectives for me on how we can organise teaching content at the ZHAW. It pushed me to my limits again and again and changed my view of teaching and learning. The warm and profound human encounters have not only enriched my professional path, but also my personal development."
“Swissnex provided excellent support—they guided me through all the preparations and connected me with key stakeholders in science diplomacy and open Science—researchers, policymakers and legal scholars. Recent years have shown that India is an economic force to be reckoned with. By building bridges through initiatives like this, I believe, we can take meaningful steps toward a more equitable framework of science.”
I have broadened my personal and cultural horizons and am returning to Switzerland with new friends and great experiences.
