Open Call | Academia Industry Training (AIT)

Switzerland-based researchers, Master's students, and early-stage science entrepreneurs from eligible Swiss institutions can apply to the AIT programme, along with a chance to win a CHF 10,000 grant. Deadline is August 12.

The Academia-Industry Training (AIT) India programme supports researchers and science entrepreneurs from Switzerland and India who want to turn research into market-ready innovations. Funded by the Swiss Leading House South Asia and delivered in partnership with Swissnex in India and Startup Campus, the programme helps participants explore the Indian and Swiss innovation ecosystems, validate business ideas and accelerate the commercialisation of science-based ventures.

Each year, ten Switzerland-based startups are selected through a competitive pitching process. Participants take part in two fully funded immersion weeks—one in India and one in Switzerland—receive mentorship and networking opportunities, pitch at Asia’s largest tech conference, and compete for a CHF 10,000 grant to further develop and scale their innovation. All programme expenses, including accommodation, food and transportation during the seminars are covered.

The programme is open to Switzerland-based researchers, including professors, senior scientists, postdoctoral researchers, PhD and Master’s students, from eligible Swiss higher education and public research institutions, as well as founders or co-founders of early-stage, science-based startups or spin-offs.
