Merging the Physical and the Digital
In the last five years, our physical and digital lives have become increasingly interconnected, opening up new possibilities, pathways and ways of being, even as human existence is being threatened in new ways. Landscapes of the Phygital dives deeper into this tangled terrain of identity, belonging, autonomy, safety, vulnerability, design and self-determination through stories, videos and a panel discussion.
The event is hosted by the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP) and builds on a series of four interactive studios held last year in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi with persons with disabilities, designers, technologists, researchers, disability rights advocates, lawyers, digital entrepreneurs, queer and trans activists—and is another step in co-creating meaningful futures for people with disabilities. ‘Landscapes of the Phygital’ is part of an ongoing collaboration between Point of View, Design Beku, Swissnex in India, and the Embassy of Switzerland in India.
It falls under the larger effort of the International Network on Digital Self-Determination and the Directorate of International Law of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs to operationalise digital self-determination.
