    Swissnex in Brazil is looking for an innovative, driven, and creative Content Strategist & Writer based in São Paulo. Start: Ideally, February 2025. Apply until 20 January, 2025. Twelve-month contract, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position.

The activities of Swissnex are based on a collaborative approach, relying on public and private partnerships and funding. In Brazil, Swissnex is based in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, carrying out activities across the country.

    Content Strategist & Writer

    The Content Strategist & Writer is a key team member to ensure the quality, depth, and coherence of Swissnex’s overall storytelling and editorial content. The role involves crafting compelling narratives in both Portuguese and English to engage and inform Swissnex’s audiences in Brazil and Switzerland. The Content Strategist & Writer works closely with project managers across the organization to fulfill, among others, the following responsibilities:

    Writing and Editing – Portuguese and English (60%)

    • Craft journalistic-style written content, including social media posts, newsletters, press releases, blog posts, event titles and descriptions, website copy, personal invitations, email campaigns, speeches, talking points, reports, publications, etc.
    • Review, refine, and copy edit texts written by all Swissnex staff, including internal reports, collaboration proposals, concept notes, research reports, op-eds, social media posts, etc.

    Strategy and Planning (20%)

    • Co-create and execute the overall content strategy of Swissnex in Brazil in alignment with the global Swissnex network’s priorities, messaging, and guidelines. 
    • Develop a roadmap for content creation, including themes, formats, and distribution channels. Manage schedules and ensure timely publication across platforms. Upload and post public and internal content.

    Others (20%)

    • Co-produce and/or oversee the external production of audio and video content, including interviews of researchers and innovators, event videos, etc.
    • Support team members in developing the content of diverse events and programs. Liaise with the Swiss Embassy and other official Swiss representations to integrate Swissnex content into their communications channels.
    • Develop and manage press and media collaborations and partnerships in Switzerland and Brazil.
    • Create and execute public diplomacy and other mission-aligned activities such as public events, roundtables, and social media campaigns.
    • Assist with events, delegation visits, and other Swissnex programs, and be available for occasional after-hours event management.
    Ideal Candidate

    To be successful in this role, an ideal candidate should have:

    • Talent and passion for the written word
    • Impeccable command of written English and Portuguese, with an ability to deal with complex topics and write clearly, concisely, and on deadline.
    • Demonstrated experience in journalism, copywriting, communications, PR.
    • Very strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated experience in elements of creative design, ex. print layout, photography or video editing, podcasting is a plus.
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software (esp. Audition, Acrobat, Photoshop, and/or Premiere Pro) is a plus.
    • Interest and enthusiasm for the Swissnex mission in science, technology, design, and the arts.
    • Team player mentality with high levels of responsibility, curiosity, and interest in a wide range of topics.
    • Ability to work outside regular office hours on occasion when needed, mainly for events and visiting groups.
    • Willingness to work primarily from the Swissnex office in São Paulo.
    • Interest in Swiss culture or knowledge of one of the Swiss national languages is a plus

    Job Description: Junior Project Manager (Internship)

    As part of the Swissnex team in Brazil, you are expected to take ownership of accomplishing new and different requests from Swiss and Brazilian stakeholders. You will be working in some of the most dynamic cities in the world, where opportunities and encounters are constantly happening. You will have the chance to explore such opportunities and contribute directly to innovative, scientific and entrepreneurial projects by giving inputs, connecting people, doing research, organizing events and coordinating suppliers.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    Reactively and proactively work with the Swissnex CEO and the core team of Swissnex Brazil in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo to accomplish tasks and respond to requests; assist and, where possible, take full ownership of the professional implementation of projects and events; and contribute with new ideas and initiatives to further Swissnex’ unique mission and objectives. That includes:

    • Event Planning & Management: active participation in and contribution to events and learning expeditions/delegation visits;
    • Logistics & Administration: active support with logistics needed to run Swissnex, its office and events; 
    • ‘Connecting the dots’ & Networking: act as a connector between people and ideas.
    Detailed Overview of Tasks

    Event Planning & Management:  

    • Conduct research & participate in brainstorming for event topics;
    • Independent planning, preparation, and execution of projects and events;
    • Identify, contact, and coach potential speakers/exhibitors/participants;
    • Manage local stakeholders, service companies, and suppliers;
    • Assist with public relations and communication between partners, sponsors, and other project partners.

    Logistics & Administration:

    • Draft funding applications and reports;
    • Update and maintain event project database;
    • Logistical organization, including setting up the event room, cleaning, welcoming, and registering guests;
    • Take charge of AV management during events & generally support the ‘back-end’ of events;
    • Execute administrative duties such as assisting in-office maintenance, basic IT support, mail distribution, and hospitality.

    ‘Connecting the dots’ & Networking: 

    • Reactively and proactively promote collaboration between people and organizations in Switzerland and Brazil;
    • Occasionally attend events, conferences, and meetings as a Swissnex representative, and share contacts, findings, and learnings with the Swissnex team.

    • Professional mastery of at least one Swiss national language; 
    • Professional mastery of the English language; 
    • International experience (Brazilian and Swiss experience a plus).

    Skills

    • Proven organizational skills and ability to multi-task;
    • Ability to independently implement projects;
    • Excellent people and communication skills (verbal and written);
    • Attention to detail;
    • Solid time management and ability to prioritize;

    Important Information
