Open Call | “Milk Matters: Dairy in the Anthropocene” by Science Gallery Bengaluru

Artists, researchers, designers, writers and creative practitioners are invited to apply to Science Gallery Bengaluru’s open call, “Milk Matters: Dairy in the Anthropocene,” part of the upcoming “CALORIE” exhibition, exploring the intersections of dairy, ecology, culture and the human impact shaping our planet. Deadline is June 10.

As part of Science Gallery Bengaluru’s upcoming exhibition-season “CALORIE,” the Milk Matters open call invites artistic, scientific, and interdisciplinary proposals that critically engage with dairy and its many meanings across culture, ecology, history and technology. From pastoral traditions and microbial cultures to processed foods, supply chains, nutrition politics and ecological collapse, the programme is interested in projects that explore how food systems shape both planetary and intimate life.

Experimental, participatory, speculative and research-driven works across formats and disciplines are welcome. Whether through installations, films, performances, workshops, storytelling, design, data or community-led practices, applicants are encouraged to reimagine humanity’s relationship with food in the Anthropocene, an era in which human activity has become inseparable from the future of the planet itself.

Submission deadline is June 10.
