Zero Emission Building Plus (ZEB+) Exhibition: Sustainable Design and Living

Discover five years of Swiss–Chinese collaboration in sustainable architecture, from zero-emission buildings to climate-responsive design.

Swissnex is pleased to partner with International Climate Innovation (ICI) for ZEB+, an exhibition highlighting five years of Swiss–Chinese collaboration in sustainable architecture and zero-emission building. Showcasing pioneering projects from both countries, the exhibition explores how cross-border knowledge exchange, innovative design, and climate-responsive approaches can contribute to a more sustainable built environment.

The exhibition also resonates with the vision of the Planetary Embassy programme, launching on 29 October, which seeks to foster dialogue and collaboration around our shared planetary challenges. Both initiatives underscore the importance of international cooperation and interdisciplinary exchange in imagining and building more sustainable futures.

About the Exhibition

.

ZEB+ explores the future of sustainable architecture through five years of Sino-Swiss collaboration in zero-emission building collaboration. “Plus” (普拉斯) embodies openness and growth expanding beyond technical demonstration into a multi-dimensional dialogue on climate-responsive design.

Following a successful Beijing premiere in early 2026, the series launches in Shanghai (Columbia Circle, 22. October till 8. November) with additional cities planned for 2027. Born from a 2020 memorandum between Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the project strengthens technical exchange, policy alignment, and demonstration at scale accelerating the building sector’s path to decarbonization.

The exhibition presents 8 completed ZEB projects across China, with additional 6 pioneer projects in Switzerland and China, showcasing buidling performance, energy balance, architecture photography, and climate-adaptive strategies. Beyond the buildings themselves, ZEB+ examines the full lifecycle: material circularity, renewable energy systems, and the cultural shift toward sustainable living.
