Swissnex in Brazil will welcome a group of energy-focused startups as part of the Startup Camps EnergyTech, powered by Innosuisse and managed by Swissnex. The program will support five Swiss startups developing solutions across hydrogen, carbon removal, renewable energy, hydropower monitoring, district energy systems, and wind energy as they explore opportunities in one of the world’s most dynamic energy markets.

Unlike traditional delegation programs, Startup Camps follows a highly personalized approach. Each participating startup will engage in a tailored agenda designed around its technology, business objectives, and target market, connecting founders with potential customers, corporate partners, investors, researchers, and public institutions. The program is designed to help startups validate their product-market fit, better understand the Brazilian market, and identify concrete pathways for partnerships, pilot projects, and long-term expansion.

The Startup Camps EnergyTech includes Brightank, an EPFL spin-off developing ammonia-to-hydrogen conversion technology; Planeto, creator of a digital platform for planning district heating and cooling networks; Recoal, which removes carbon dioxide through hydrothermal carbonization of organic waste; Riverkin, an ETH Zurich spin-off specializing in real-time freshwater monitoring systems; and RTDT Laboratories, developer of AI-powered monitoring solutions for wind turbines.

Brazil offers a distinct environment for each of these companies. Its expanding renewable energy sector, leadership in biofuels, growing wind and solar capacity, strong hydropower base, and increasing demand for industrial decarbonization create opportunities to test technologies under real market conditions while building partnerships with local stakeholders. 

The Startup Camps EnergyTech take place during two weeks of Swissnex activities focused on energy transition, running in parallel with dedicated agendas for Swiss researchers and artist-researchers.
