Swiss Government’s Excellence Scholarships 2027-2028

Brazilian researchers can now apply for the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program offers opportunities to pursue doctoral studies or research at Swiss higher education institutions, with scholarships starting in September 2027.

The scholarships are awarded by the Swiss Confederation and aim to foster international research collaboration and academic exchange. Applications are open to eligible candidates across a range of disciplines, subject to the program’s requirements.

Research Scholarships
For applicants from Brazil, the available options are Research Fellowships and PhD Scholarships. These opportunities support postgraduate researchers planning to conduct research or pursue doctoral studies at a Swiss academic institution.

Scholarships are available at Swiss cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences, the two federal institutes of technology, and the four research institutes. Candidates must be nominated by an academic supervisor at one of these institutions to be considered.

First Steps for Your Application
Before applying, consult the official country and territory lists published by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) and review the eligibility criteria and application requirements.
